MTV’s successful reality show Challenge is back, and this season will be different from any of the previous 12. Coinciding with the new season, MTV’s official podcast will kick off with a special episode of Challenge Double Agents, which premieres Monday, June 12 at 9 pm ET / PT. MTV announced today that the highly anticipated, highly successful and hugely popular new season will premiere on June 13, 2016 on MTV in the US, Canada and Australia.
In addition, for the first time in the show’s history, double agents will appear on Challenge Double Agents with a total of 12 contestants.
The 30-candidate “double agent” theme involves constant partner swapping, back-slapping and politicizing during what is sure to be an intense season. Meet the 30 challengers and double agents below and cast your agent below to open the season! After the nominations, each double agent will be shown by the individual who voted for him and the nominated team. After the nomination, they will be shown by each individual who voted against. After the nomination all individual agents vote for the team and the two nominated teams vote against each other.
The Crater, each double agent, selects a second team individually to compete against the nominated team in a elimination round, in which both players of the same gender participate. After the double voting, the gender of the participants in the elimination rounds will be announced. The winner of each elimination round may choose one of his excluded double agents as his partner. After the nomination, all players (designated gender) of both nominated teams will participate with the team selected by the double agents.
After the Daily Challenge, all players will be double agents and will have to vote for a pair in each knockout round they take part in. After the daily challenge, each player participates as a double agent in consultations with the double agents. After the following daily challenges, players and double agents vote in a single vote, but may not vote against each other or against a pair until the player has participated in all knockout rounds. After the DailyChallenge, both players will participate in the deliberations as double agents, with each player and double agent voting with one vote.
Rogue agents are not selected for elimination and do not compete in the next daily challenge. However, the person with the fastest total time earns the right to choose their partner and become a double agent. The first player in each run to duplicate the sequence correctly and ignite his station wins, and in addition to his role as a double agent, the winner will also receive a $5,000 cash prize. Rogue agents, but the first players in both heats to duplicate the sequences correctly and ignite their stations, win, they also receive an Ashes prize of up to $6,000 and the winners become Double Agents.
Once a team receives three kills, the team is eliminated from the challenge, but it can still be bet on the kill it currently owns. The player who pushes the opponent into the net first wins the heat, and the player who does so becomes a double agent. If they win the fastest team, he wins a cash prize of $5,000 and his team wins the first prize of the day.
Here’s the double-agent twist, though: The winning couple in each challenge would decide which of the other two couples in the house of their choice would go into battle. Double agents are tough competitors, and almost every male contestant who leaves the challenge has a strength that can bring him far into the game. The strategy will be left to the male candidates, who will have to steal a skull during the challenge, but not the remaining female candidates. They have the best chance of reaching the final and currently have the chance to win the season.
At first glance, the formation of a double agent pair does not seem particularly brutal: You pick Fessy, the winner of the male heat, and form a double agent pair with your partner. Candidates are exempt from being voted out of Crater, do not compete in daily challenges, have no partner, are rogue agents, or simply admit that they need help and end up as double agents.
Killer Kam defeated Big T, making it clear that Kam and Kyle had skulls, but Kyle won his round against CT. On the other hand, there were a number of players who seemed to be allied with the CT against the double agents.
In the new video, “Votes Declassified,” below, many of the agents can be seen trying to get rid of Devin and his partner Gabby Allen. The Double Agents Episode 11 challenge, the agent vote, seems to come down to just two decisions, depending on which alliance someone is in.
